Eric,

In regards to the vocal mic for the contest, I have a SM58 Beta vocal mic I bring every year for the Far side Jam. It is a pretty "hot" mic and is available for the contest should you want to try it out and/or use it. I also have a Shure 87A Beta vocal condenser mic which requires phantom power for consideration for the contest. I don't usually bring that mic to the BEAN but will if you want me too. Maybe Jim McBride can make a recommendation of what type of vocal mic to use.

I think using the Bottle O blues harp mic of Jim's for the contest (handheld mic) is an excellent idea! We need to promote one of our own!

Correct Neil...the B.O.B is going to be used for the cupped players and another mic, of a vocal nature, is going to be on stage in a stand. Eric said 2 different mics are going to be used.

Now that's a fine job of contest organizing.  Alex Trebeck or Bob Barker could not have done better.

Wow! You and your network have really outdone yourself this year. Set the bar way high! And to think I would had been happy with nothing at all or even old lawn ornaments.

I don't think Danny G has posted here, but I talk to him regularly and he'll likely have something to donate for the contest prizes.

Gee...I thought since being a prior winner I wouldn't enter....but $$$and free tickets and goodies.....sheesh...   Eric, where were you last year?.....
Actually playing up the contest is good and another thing to add to the festival and "fatten it up."
We want the fest to be a grand success for Grant and continue year after year. Im sure its a tough business to make profitable. Lots of effort goes behind putting on an event. Thanks for your effort Eric. This year you get to organize back to back events.
