Here we go, folks.
This will answer many of the questions raised here.
This will cause more questions to be raised here.
None if this is concrete.
Most of this won't change.
(Ya gotta be loving' my style, huh?)

-The contest will take part immediately following the Cabin 12 Jammers slot.
-It WILL be on Hippie Hill because the 2nd act will be needing to set up.
-Some requests for judges have been sent out. Worse case, I will find volunteers.
-There will be 2 mics available for use. A vocal mic and a Bottle 'O Blues.
-A limit on the number of contestants will be decided.
-There is going to be a link to register for the contest BEFORE the fest. Registering at the fest will be      possible if there are openings.
-A yet-to-be-determined time limit for all players.
-The contest will be just 2 divisions:  Youth (under 16) and Adult.
-Prizes will be awarded to AT LEAST the top 2 of both divisions.
-$100 will be going to the winner of the Adult Division.
-Other prizes will be determined shortly.
-The contest will be advertised at a couple of spots at the fest and on the taxi.
-The contest will get a slight facelift on the web sight.

Ok, I think we need more mics because of the groups. The groups needs to be a separate division. And, I'm working with Danny on more prizes.

Bruce, I will have at least 3 mics and stands in my truck and can bring a couple wireless also. Joe is bringing his amp.  I will have mine with three mike inputs.  I think we will be OK.

I made the same post on the facebook page, and Eric said there would be no group contest.

I'm sure his thinking is that it wasn't real popular, not many groups entering.  I can understand that, but if there is interest in having a group contest, I'm sure Eric will go along with it.

So people, is there interest in a group contest?

Eric just posted on facebook
"Participation factors largely into the decision.
Maybe in a couple of years, after the Harmonica Contest gets some life."

Eric,

The time limit on the contestant performance has always been a good idea and normally it has been understood to be 5 minutes. What I don't understand is while the playing is limited to 5 minutes past contestants have stood on the stage for 10 minutes describing the solo they are about to play??????? I don't get it.

Last year there was very little talk on the forum about the contest and the number of entries were low. I suspect with the chat here and the prizes being offered the number of entries will be way up over 2014 and that is great!
